Counselling

Supporting you through life's challenges

What is Counselling and what can I expect?

Counselling allows you the space to express your feelings, fears and emotions within a safe non-judgemental place.  Sometimes it is difficult speaking to friends, family or loved ones about how you feel, or the challenges you are going through.  They may give advice, judge you, or make their own comparisons.  A counsellor is there to allow you to feel heard, and not judge you or tell you what to do.  My aim is to build a trusting relationship with you in order for you to feel more comfortable and at ease.

Whether you are feeling low, anxious, trying to cope with a bereavement, or struggling with an affair or betrayal,  I am here and ready to hear you.  Allow yourself to feel heard and supported within a safe, accepted and confidential space.  I am not here to tell you what to do. I will listen without judgement and together we will gently explore your emotions and feelings to gain a better understanding of the challenges you are facing.

How can Counselling help?

Counselling  allows you to process your feelings and emotions within a safe confidential space and without judgement. This in turn can help you gain a better understanding of your situation.
What are the benefits of Counselling?
Counselling can offer you several benefits:

  • Allows you to discuss and acknowledge your feelings and emotions in a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space.
  • Gives you the opportunity to open up about things you may not feel comfortable speaking about with a loved one, friends or family.
  • Allows you to feel validated and understood.
  • Helping you to gain coping skills.
  • Help you to understand yourself better which will ultimately help you develop a clearer understanding of your problems.
  • Improving self-awareness to understand what you are feeling and why.
  • Can help you have a better understanding of other people's points of view, to give you a different perspective.
  • Can help regain emotional balance & self-worth.
  • Can help improve mood, communication and relationships.
When can I start having Counselling sessions?
You can start meeting with a counsellor whenever you feel you need extra support.
How many sessions will I need?
Sessions can be attended on a short-term or on a long-term basis.  I have a relaxed approach and feel you should be in control with regards to any on-going sessions.  This allows you to book in weekly, or book in as and when you feel you need extra support.
How much will it cost and how long is each session?
The cost per session is £55.00 and is payable on-line in advance at the time of booking. Each session will last for 50 minutes.
Where do the sessions take place?
You can choose to have your counselling sessions in-person at my private clinic, or via online video/telephone.  Please note, FREE parking is provided for clients at the clinic.
A Counsellor will not:
  • Help with practical problems, such as financial or housing issues.
  • Prescribe drugs.
  • Have specific information about health-related problems.
  • Tell you what to do.
  • Judge you.
